Learn How to Cook Traditional Vietnamese Cuisine at Red Bridge Cooking School

Traditional Vietnamese cuisine is so yummy, but it can be hard to replicate the flavors if you have no idea how to prepare each individual dish.  While you can simply return to Vietnam to enjoy these meals in the future, you may prefer to learn how to cook these meals, so you can have them whenever you wish once you return home!

The Red Bridge Cooking School is one of the best places to learn how to cook in Vietnam and they offer two types of tours each day of the week. They also offer a nighttime class at their sister restaurant, Hai Café, so you do not need to worry about missing out if all your days are jam-packed with other things to do.

This tour begins with a guided tour of Hoi An’s Central Market and then you take a boat trip along the Hoi An River.  Next is a walk through an herb garden and then you will spend two hours cooking delectable dishes.  Once all the food is prepared, you will sit down to eat lunch with the rest of your classmates, so you can all taste the different dishes that you made.

The cost of this tour is currently 34 USD and you can make a reservation on their website.

2. Deluxe Tour

You will start by touring the Tra Que organic herb gardens and then pick up the remaining of the ingredients you will need at the local market.  Once you have everything that you need, you will return to the kitchen to spend three hours cooking up four different dishes.  Two of those four dishes will be beef noodle soup, which is called pho, and clay pot fish with dill, which is locally known as cha ca.  As soon as the dishes are fully prepared, you will all sit down for lunch to try everything that you made.

The cost of this tour is currently 56 USD and reservations can also be made online for this one.

3. Evening Cooking Class

The Red Bridge Cooking School’s Evening Cooking Class is the perfect option if you do not want to spend your days away from the rest of the attractions within Hoi An.  This class begins at six o’clock in the evening and continues until eight o’clock.

You will learn to make a few different Hoi An specialty dishes that include beef salad in a bamboo basket, fried spring rolls, and grilled fish in banana leaves.

The cost for this tour is 22 USD and it is best to make your reservations online in advance, because this class is always full.

A cooking class may not even be anywhere near the top of your list of things to do when you are planning your trip to Hoi An, but it will be once you start tasting the local cuisine!  The cooking classes at the Red Bridge Cooking School are fun and informative, plus it is a great way to spend a few hours and have your lunch included in the price.
